Doctor Who?
about Mark Evansexperienced and trusted
Working with Mark was an absolute pleasure.
He’s a brilliant presenter (nicknamed the one-take wonder on our shoot!) delivering complex ideas and information in an accessible and entertaining way. He also has strong producing skills, offering sharp editorial input at all stages of production. To top it off, he’s an absolutely brilliant team player.
Creative, collaborative and skilled, he’s the kind of talent we all dream of working with.
Vet Surgeon
A graduate of the Royal Veterinary College in London, Mark has worked in both private and charity (not-for-profit) animal hospitals. He has also served as the RSPCA’s Chief Veterinary Adviser.
A passionate animal welfare advocate, Mark is a vocal campaigner for a smarter, more scientific approach to the way we interact with, and care for, wildlife and domesticated animals.
Mark is an award-winning animal-care writer and has presented hundreds of hours of vet-related television content focussing mainly on animal rescue and rehabilitation. He co-created the Channel 4, ob-doc format, Pet Rescue, that ran for over 1000 episodes.
No longer in clinical practice, Mark continues to help organisations create and deliver communications projects promoting responsible animal care.
Mark has an international profile as a presenter of award-winning science documentaries and innovative, live, multi-platform events.
He has filmed all over the world, from the Arctic to Zambia, exploring subjects including human genomics, evolutionary anatomy, cryptozoology, wildlife conflict, reproduction and environmental DNA.
Trusted by broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Five, NatGeo, Discovery and PBS, Mark has worked with many of the UK’s best-known specialist factual TV production companies.
Not surprisingly, given his veterinary background, most of Mark’s science communication work relates to his passion for biology. But, he is also well-known for his keen interest in engineering.

Shed Head
Growing up in an engineering family, Mark has always been fascinated with how things work and fixing stuff that’s broken.
He is an enthusiastic amateur mechanic with his own well-equipped workshop. DIY is Mark’s default setting and he grabs any opportunity to learn new skills.
Mark’s very hands-on interest in making and mending has been the subject of over two hundred TV programmes. He is well-known around the world for his ambitious car, 4×4, motorbike and aircraft restoration and build projects. He has also fronted ‘how to’ series about house building, home improvement and garden landscaping.
Mark loves the countryside and rural life. He is a director of a charity that manages public access to over 2000 acres of the Surrey Hills AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) where he also volunteers as a Ranger for the National Trust.
